How to install a SSL Certificate for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance?

Please follow these instructions to install your SSL certificate on Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance.

Install your SSL Certificate

1. Once you received your SSL certificate by e-mail, please copy and paste it into a text file (with Notepad or Wordpad) and save the file with the .crt extension. (Include the tags -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE-----).

2. Get your intermediate certificate. Copy and paste the contents into a .crt file by using a text editor software (such as Notepad or Wordpad). (Include the tags -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE-----).

3. In Adaptive Security Device Manager, select Configuration and Device Management.

4. Expand Certificate Management and select CA Certificates and then Add.

5. With the option select to Install from a file, browse to your intermediate certificate (from step 2) and clickInstall Certificate.Your intermediate certificate is now installed.

6. In Adaptive Security Device Manager, select Configuration and Device Management.

7. Expand Certificate Management and select Identity Certificates.

8. Select the appropriate identity certificate from when your CSR was generated. Click Install.

9. Browse to your SSL certificate (from step 1) and click Install Certificate.

Configuring WebVPN with ASDM

1. In Adaptive Security Device Manager, select Configuration and Device Management.

2. Click Advanced and SSL Settings.

3. From Certificates, choose the interface used to terminate WebVPN session and choose Edit.

4. From the Certificate drop-down, select the newly installed certificate, then OK and Apply.
