They are sure to open up a whole host of opportunities for your business should you choose a new gTLD. For example a business based in London could really utilise a .London extension.
However you do need to associate yourself with the associated threats.
It is also important to consider that all extensions listed here might not be opened to registration for everyone. Each Registry is free to choose whether they wish to make the extension public or not. The ICANN has published a list of the applicants' position regarding this "exclusive registry access".
